It’s called the Golden Triangle because of the shape formed on a map when you connect Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. The area encompasses some of the most interesting and most visited places in India. In this tour you can also visit the Shekhawati region, popularly known as the Open Art Gallery, and one of the best places to see the rare and forgotten art skills of Rajasthan, intricately executed in its numerous temples, havelis and forts.
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Delhi
Arrival: Arrive in Delhi, the vibrant capital of India.
Activities: Rest at your hotel or explore nearby markets.
Overnight: Stay in Delhi.
Day 2: Delhi Sightseeing
Red Fort: A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this massive red sandstone fort was the main residence of the Mughal emperors.
Jama Masjid: Built by Shah Jahan, it is one of the largest mosques in India.
India Gate: A grand war memorial commemorating the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in World War I.
Qutub Minar: The tallest brick minaret in the world and another UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Humayun’s Tomb: A beautiful garden tomb, the first of its kind in India.
Overnight: Stay in Delhi.
Day 3: Delhi to Agra
Travel: Drive to Agra (approx. 3–4 hours).
Agra Fort: A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this red sandstone fort offers a glimpse into the grandeur of the Mughal era.
Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah: Often called the “Baby Taj,” this is a beautiful marble mausoleum.
Overnight: Stay in Agra.
Day 4: Agra to Jaipur
Taj Mahal: Visit at sunrise to see the stunning marble mausoleum built by Shah Jahan in memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal.
Travel: Drive to Jaipur (approx. 4-5 hours).
Overnight: Stay in Jaipur.
Day 5: Jaipur Sightseeing
Amber Fort: A majestic hilltop fort renowned for its artistic Hindu architectural elements.
City Palace: A stunning palace complex that includes the Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal.
Jantar Mantar: A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this astronomical observatory houses the world’s largest stone sundial.
Hawa Mahal: The “Palace of Winds,” a five-story palace with a unique honeycomb design.
Jal Mahal: A breathtaking palace that appears to float on the serene waters of Man Sagar Lake.
Overnight: Stay in Jaipur.
Day 6: Jaipur to Shekhawati
Travel: Drive to Shekhawati (approx. 4-5 hours).
Havelis of Mandawa: Explore the richly frescoed havelis (mansions) that showcase the region’s rich artistic heritage.
Overnight: Stay in Shekhawati.
Day 7: Shekhawati Sightseeing
Nawalgarh: Visit the grand havelis with intricate murals depicting mythology, history, and everyday life.
Dundlod: Explore the fort and havelis, reflecting the grandeur of Rajputana architecture.
Overnight: Stay in Shekhawati.
Day 8: Shekhawati to Delhi and Departure
Travel: Drive back to Delhi (approx. 6-7 hours).
Departure: Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
